     You need to consider what type of outfit you will be wearing your necklace with when purchasing a necklace. There are three classic styles that are fairly versatile:

* Diamond Solitaire Necklace: This is a fashion classic, and can be worn for many occasions - day or night.

* Cultured Pearl's: A strand of pearls goes with anything. They are elegant and compliment other types of jewelry well. 16-inch strands are a good style - not too long and not too short.

* Pendants: These can be elegant or casual depending how you wear them. Usually, these are on a chain of about 18 inches or longer.
